About Michael
I am currently an administrator at the middle school level. I have ten years of administrative experience. Prior to that I was a classroom teacher for fourteen years.
I have a B.A. in History and Political Science and M.Ed in Educational leadership.
I have served as an intern for the U.S. House of Representatives and I have been elected three times to, and currently serve as President of, our local park board in a city of nearly 80,000 residents.

The best way to learn in any social studies discipline, is to apply the subject matter to the lives of the students. This is done primarily through discussions and critical thinking.
A typical lesson would include some assigned reading or research prior to our session. During our session is when the real-life connections would be made and students would then, hopefully, understand the purpose of why we study historical events or the way governments affect our lives.
What sets me apart is real world experience as a teacher, congressional intern, and elected local official.
Lessons would be for middle school, high school, or those studying for the citizenship exam.
