About Gillian
I’m a former middle and high school teacher with years of experience supporting students in grades 6–12, particularly in writing, essays, and academic organization. I work virtually with students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to turn their ideas into clear, confident writing.
My tutoring style is calm, practical, and student-centered. I help students break down assignments, strengthen their thinking, improve structure and clarity, and develop skills they can carry into future classes. Sessions are focused and low-pressure, with clear goals and next steps so students leave knowing exactly what to do.
I specialize in essay writing, research papers, and college application essays, and I’m especially effective with students who are capable but anxious, discouraged, or burnt out. I believe confidence grows when students feel understood and supported—not rushed or judged.
I offer virtual sessions in the evenings and keep my schedule intentionally small so each student gets thoughtful, individualized attention.

I’m a former middle and high school teacher with extensive experience helping students feel confident, organized, and successful in their writing. I specialize in essay development, research papers, and college application essays, working virtually with students in grades 6–12.
