About Jaime
I am a former high school teacher with a STEM degree and over 10 years of experience tutoring K–12 students in elementary, middle, and high school math. As a former educator, so I understand both the academic and personal challenges students can face.
I love teaching, and I always put my students first. Helping a student grasp a difficult concept or overcome a hurdle brings me so much joy! As a teacher, I’m patient, personable, and committed to helping students build both their skills and confidence. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing through challenge.

Students learn best when they understand the "why" and the "how" behind a theory, not just which formula to use. I tailor each session to the student’s individual needs. We break down complex concepts into bite-sized pieces and use examples and rapport to make each lesson relevant and interesting. Each session leaves space for guided practice and skill-building. The goal is for each student to leave feeling more prepared and confident than when they arrived.
Before we dive in, I start by learning about a student's goals, challenges, strengths, and learning style. This key information informs my teaching style and approach.
A typical lesson starts by identifying current content areas and what feels most challenging. Together, we review the concept, work through examples, and then practice independently with support as needed. I also keep an eye out for gaps in foundational skills that may be making current material more difficult.
I tutor K–12 students in math, including homework help, foundational skills, arithmetic, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, statistics and probability, and test preparation. My personal goal is to make math (and learning in general!) less intimidating and more accessible, while helping students feel confident, empowered, and capable.

We have worked with Jaime for years now. She tutored my eldest son throughout middle school and high school and is now tutoring my youngest son in middle school. Both of my kids have IEPs and Jaime was able to understand and accommodate their specific learning challenges. She worked with them both on a variety of subjects, English, writing, math, science. I know that neither of them would have been as successful in school without her help. I would not hesitate to recommend Jaime for anyone who needs tutoring assistance for their kids!
