I prefer one-on-one interaction as I find that affords the greatest opportunity for student success. Specific methodology depends on the mathematical subject being discussed. Geometry topics lend themselves to more physical analogies whereas the abstract nature of algebra requires students to apply steps and algorithms in order to be successful.
