About George

I am a passionate English teacher who has taught the whole wider spectrum of students with every need imaginable. I want to build confident students who will take their skills into the life beyond the classroom. I have been teaching for over 20 years and I have been a Head of English for the last 5 years.

About the lesson

I personalise my approach depending on the needs of the student. I use overlearning / mastery to help embed learning. I have taught KS3 - KS5 and adult learners. I like to start with the fundamental skills to make sure students have a solid grounding in the subject. Building confidence each session by aggregating improvements across skills.
No two people learn in the same way, and I work hard to understand the areas of weakness for each student and then to target them.

Perfect! George plans and prepares his lessons and provides engaging lessons with good pace and variety of activities.

George's response
Krystle has a solid foundation in Language. Improvement will come from expanding her academic vocabulary and then using the words within a variety of contexts. She is not passive, but may have a confidence deficit that makes her second guess her own ideas. She is very polite and engaged well with the tasks. It was a pleasure to teach her.
