About Jomarie
I’m a former high school English teacher with experience teaching 9th-grade English Language Arts and supporting students with a wide range of learning needs. I hold a BA in Public Policy Leadership and a master’s degree.
My background in both English education and policy has given me extensive experience with reading, research, writing, and analyzing complex ideas. Most importantly, I understand that students learn differently, and I value creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing more confident in their abilities.

I build confidence and independence by breaking difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps.
As a former English teacher, I have experience adapting instruction for different learning needs and supporting non-native English speakers. Whether a student needs help developing a thesis, organizing an essay, analyzing a text, strengthening comprehension, or simply becoming a more fluent writer, lessons are tailored to the student and their goals.
My approach is patient and conversational, with a plan tailored to each student to develop skills they can use independently—not just complete the assignment in front of them.
