About Catherine
I double majored in English and biology. I have experience with academic writing (essays and tests) as well as four years of experience as a staff writer for WSN. This is the beginning of my tutoring career as most of my experience has been in peer-to-peer learning environments.

I can teach everything from basic writing and literacy to college-level writing. I will tailor my approach to the student's needs. I believe the best way to learn to write is practice with the guidance of a patient, thorough editor. For test prep, I am happy to explain any practice test materials and develop a lesson plan. For literature and reading comprehension, I believe in a discussion based approach to foster deeper understanding of the text.

My rates will vary based on the level of the student and the material being taught. Rates will be slightly higher or will include travel if you are based outside of Manhattan. I am open to negotiation to work within a student or parent's budget. If there is a same-day cancellation I will require a $10 flat fee.
