About Jessica
I hold a B.S. in Political Science and a Juris Doctorate and have accumulated two decades of dedicated involvement in education. Over the years, my experience has encompassed various roles, from tutoring, guiding homeschool pods, and instructing social studies for grades 6-12 in public schools. At the college level, I have taught a spectrum of subjects, including medical law and ethics, government, English remediation, new student and first-generation orientation, and criminal justice.
The majority of my career has been dedicated to working with diverse populations in at-risk environments. Specializing in guiding first-generation college students, I have actively engaged in teaching study skills and motivational strategies. My approach is rooted in respect for every student, and I am committed to working diligently with them to discern their unique learning styles. By assisting students in identifying their optimal approaches to learning and retaining course content, I enjoy watching my student's academic achievements. Guiding students through their educational journey is not just a profession for me; it's a passion.

I help each student identify their unique learning style, tailoring all lessons toward that specific style. I tutor middle school to college levels, in classes I am passionate about: social studies, government, political science, and history. Emphasizing student involvement, I actively seek feedback on lesson plans, empowering students to take responsibility for their learning process. Using alternative approaches, I treat each student as an individual, eliminating typical lesson plans. In English classes, I have integrated screenplay writing, used state standards to design history and government debate classes, and infused art into English Language Arts. My commitment is to transform each student's learning style and interests into a personalized class that not only imparts knowledge in the chosen subject but also incorporates their hobbies and passions for a more engaging learning experience.
