About Tim
Autodidact interested in psychiatry, positive psychology, Buddhist psychology, and psychopharmacology. No official qualifications in these areas, self-taught.
Former Sales and Marketing agent, and Journalist before that.
In the past three years I've gone from spending $1000+ per week on research chemicals (designer drugs) to swimming everyday, saving every week, and working consistently toward professional goals. This was without the help of a quality support network (in fact, many of my loved ones were detrimental to my recovery).
I have first hand experience with Cluster B PDNOS (most likely BPD), Autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, delirium, and both paranoid and pronoid delusions. I understand these things on both a subjective level, and a neurochemical level.
Even excluding neurochemistry; I have a keen interest and understanding of psychotherapy, including theories and methods developed by Freud, Jung, Karpman, Berne, et al. I personally find the field of transactional analysis to be of particular benefit.
Most of my background is related to the humanities, and I find some of the best wisdom doesn't come from professionals, but from artists and authors. The books of authors Kurt Vonnegut and David Foster Wallace, and the music of XTC and Pink Floyd, have been of great personal benefit to me, and represent my general attitude towards society, culture, health, and wellbeing.

I generally prefer an open dialogue over any formalised or structured lesson plan, though I am certainly capable of organising the latter if required.
I find simply divulging information in a rigid manner is not only boring, but less impactful. You're going to learn more if you're engaged with what you're learning.
I'm not shy, nor judgmental or scary, and I know how to get others to open up. I share information, and teach others, as if it's my default setting -- So thank you for paying me for something I'm usually happy to do for free!
