About Mike
Hi, I'm Mike. I am a teacher of Science and have been a head of department for over 15 Years. I have examining experience with all of the major exam boards from KS3 to A-Level. I have also worked in the past for a variety of companies such as OCR writing teacher training materials and for the BBC working on their Bitesize website and other education projects. I have recently been published as an author contributing to a chapter in a book regarding Science teaching. I am also a member of the Association for Science Education where I work on the National Education Committee. I am an experienced home and online tutor with over 20 years experience in this field enabling students to improve their exam outcomes. I have known Mike for 17 years and, for 10 of them, he worked as a teacher of science and chemistry as part of a large Science Faculty of which I was Head. As such, I worked very closely with him and observed his teaching of students aged 11 - 18 years. He has an excellent knowledge of all three branches of science but is particularly expert in the field of chemistry. He has a great sense of humour and his teaching style is very engaging. At the same time he challenges his students with an aim to enable them to attain their full potential. This, along with his vast experience working for examination boards in marking KS3 SATS, GCSE Sciences and 'A'-level Chemistry examinations as well as moderating coursework, makes him an ideal tutor. I can confidently fully recommend him to you without any reservations.
