About Evander
I am a flute tutor with 9 years of teaching experience and over 150 students taught successfully. I believe that learning the flute should be both structured and fun, which is why I combine technical exercises with creative and expressive practice. I focus on breath control, finger dexterity, tone, and rhythm while encouraging improvisation and musical interpretation.
I tailor lessons to each student’s unique learning style and goals, helping them progress confidently. In addition, I teach music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills to prepare students for exams, recitals, or personal enjoyment. My goal is to develop skilled, confident, and passionate musicians who truly love the flute.

I teach flute with a methodology that emphasises student-centred learning, adaptability, and encouragement. I carefully assess each student’s learning style and design lessons that suit their pace, strengths, and goals. This ensures that students remain engaged while building both technical skill and expressive ability.
Flexibility is key to my teaching. I modify lesson plans, exercises, and repertoire based on the student’s progress and interests, keeping lessons challenging yet achievable. Collaboration is encouraged through duets, group exercises, and performance simulations, which develop teamwork, musical sensitivity, and confidence. Positivity creates a motivating environment where students feel supported, inspired, and empowered to explore and enjoy music.
Alongside flute instruction, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This comprehensive approach balances technical mastery with creative expression, helping students grow into confident, versatile, and passionate musicians.
