Holla estudiantes, Me llamo Elizabeth, y soy muy orgulloso conocerte y ayudarte a aprender una lenguaje nueva! I've been studying in Spanish since preschool. Being immersed in the language while learning other subjects like math, science and humanities throughout elementary fostered my love for the teaching and learning of language. Now, I speak fluently and enjoy watching movies, listening to music, and writing in Spanish. I've been helping other learners for about 5 years and tutoring formally for 2, all the while continuing to take Spanish classes and find ways to improve my comprehension and my teaching. Along with 9 years of studying Spanish, I also have a Certificate of Functional Fluency and have a score of past students who have managed to increase their Spanish proficiency by leaps and bounds during our time together. About the lesson

By applying a combination of modern, psychologist-approved, techniques and the tried and true methods I was taught with, I can help you get the most out of your language learning journey. I teach mainly via immersion, speaking to my students in the target language (Spanish) whenever possible and ensuring that you're taught to truly think in the language, rather than simply translating every word on its own. Lessons will begin with a knowledge check to help me understand my student's level, before moving on to analyzing and addressing problem areas affecting student's real-world and in-class success. Practice will involve all aspects of the target language, including: pronunciation while speaking speed in reading, writing, listening and speaking overall fluency and comprehension. Finally, sessions will end with a recap of learning, and for extracurricular students, assignment of homework (usually involving consumption of media in the target language). As a long-time student of Spanish language and culture, I appreciate the beauty of immersion in a foreign language, and I truly enjoy sharing that beauty with Spanish learners.
