About Fathima Haya

I’ve always wanted to do Literature in some way, shape or form in my life but I realised that the true beauty of it is when Literature becomes a service for people.

By being a tutor, I can maybe rekindle that love for other people- the same love that inspires me.

About the lesson

I have mostly tutored GCSE English Literature students but I am looking to expand.

My teaching methodology does differ depending on the student as I have worked with students from a range of different levels.

For students who may have more difficulties learning the content I like to structure my lessons by breaking down the topic bit by bit.

So, for example, if they struggled with spotting and identifying metaphors I might start with learning similes, then how to transform similes into metaphors, spotting them in texts and then making your own metaphor.

I believe the most important part of learning is to be truly engaged with the subject- I understand that exams and the pressures that come with it can make this near impossible so I try to add things which I hope instil a fondness for the subject.

So whether that’s watching bits of a theatre production, acting out the characters by reading enthusiastically or simply letting you craft your own opinions about these complex, slightly weird but always wonderful characters- I’m open to making tutoring and therefore learning enjoyable for you!

I’d also love to support anyone who is currently on or about to go on their UCAS journey.

My UCAS application process was considered a successful one as I received conditional offers from all my universities, including the University of Cambridge.

I received a 9 at GCSE and an A at A level for English Literature but I know with your effort and mine you can achieve even better!

Lessons would range between 45 mins to 1hr 30 mins depending on the student and what they might need me for. I’m available on Monday and Tuesday from 3-7pm and on the weekends.

For GCSE tutoring the baseline is £15
For A levels it’s £17 but mentoring for UCAS is included!

I like to research your individual curriculum, and create tailored help based on you as a student. The first lesson is free but I do need things like your school performance reports, your own personal revision etc to get a clearer picture of you!
