About Panagiota
Hello, I’m Panagiota, a first-year Pharmacy (MPharm) student at King’s College London, offering friendly and supportive tutoring in GCSE Biology and GCSE Chemistry.
I achieved Grade 9s in both GCSE Biology and Chemistry and went on to study Biology and Chemistry further at A level.
I’m a friendly, patient and approachable person, and I believe that creating a comfortable learning environment for students is just as important as knowing the subject itself. I want students to feel completely comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking their time when working through something they find difficult.
I have previous experience mentoring younger students in GCSE Chemistry and Spanish. I am very passionate about making a difference in the way these subjects are taught to students especially because mastering the GCSE in these subjects is really important for building the foundational knowledge required for further study at A level and higher education like university.
Outside of my studies, I enjoy staying involved in volunteering and supporting others. I’m also particularly interested in healthcare and science, which is what led me to pursue Pharmacy at King’s.
These experiences have helped me develop patience, clear communication and the ability to adapt my explanations to different learners.

I understand how challenging and daunting GCSE sciences can feel, particularly with the large amount of content that needs to be learnt and memorised. I therefore focus on breaking down difficult topics and making them seem clear and manageable to a student, helping them to develop strong understanding of the subject.
I believe it is important for students to understand why something works rather than simply memorising the content required for exams.
During lessons, I place a strong emphasis on exam practice and I work through exam questions with students, developing their exam technique needed to achieve the higher grades. This also helps students to clearly identify gaps in their knowledge. I also help them to understand how to approach different question types and adhere to the specific wording of strict mark schemes.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs and include:
• Building confidence and consolidating difficult topics from the specification
• Reviewing and revising GCSE content that has already been taught in class
• Practising exam questions, including timed practice to develop exam technique which is so important for final exams.
• Identifying areas of difficulty and working through them step-by-step
• Regularly reviewing previously covered topics to support long-term retention
• Preparing for upcoming in-class tests, school mock examinations and final GCSE examinations.
Lessons are typically one hour and held virtually, although I am happy to discuss longer sessions where appropriate.
I can adapt the pace and structure of each lesson depending on the student’s needs and level of confidence.
My lessons are aimed primarily at GCSE students aged 14–16 studying Biology and/or Chemistry, including students who want to improve their confidence, strengthen their understanding of the subject or prepare for their GCSE examinations.
My goal is to make lessons supportive and engaging, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning from them.
