About Soumya
From teaching swim lessons to toddlers to teaching molecular biology to college students, I've had experience teaching in various settings and with different age groups. By doing so, I've had a large exposure to different learning methods and am very adaptable to them. Studying rigorous material, such as for the MCAT, I am able to handle various different curriculum and find study materials to make the material more digestible. As a first-year medical student, I've honed my ability to manage my time, organize study material, and also handle difficult material as well. By building skills like critical thinking and resilience, I look forward to teaching others as well.

I always ask students how they learn the best first and then see what hasn't been working so far. I like to look at the curriculum, materials, and maybe the student's performances on assignments and tests before the tutoring lesson. I then like to go through the assignments together, think about how to approach the material, and tackle mistakes. I spend time outside of the tutoring session finding and creating additional material for you to set you up for as much success as possible. I am open to teaching math classes up to Calculus 1, general chemistry and biology classes up to undergraduate level, and other subjects as well.
