About Maria
I am a first‑year engineering student with a strong academic background in mathematics and the sciences. I enjoy explaining concepts clearly and helping students build confidence through structured, step‑by‑step reasoning. I have experience mentoring younger learners and value patience, clarity, and genuine enthusiasm when teaching. My goal is to support students in developing strong problem‑solving skills and a deeper understanding of mathematics.

My main goal is to make sure the student understands the material — not to memorise the process but to really understand why each step is done. In doing so, a students level of fluency can increase from competent to exceptional easily. A typical length of a lesson will be around 45min - 1hour and 30 min, but will really depend on the student. In NCEA I excellence endorsed Calculus and Chemistry, and in university I have received an overall grade of A+ for both Engineering mathematics and chemistry principles. My lessons target NCEA level 2-3.
