About Lucy
I’m a university student with a strong background in math, and I know firsthand how challenging it can feel when a topic doesn’t click straight away. That’s why I want to teach so I can make math more approachable, boost confidence, and show students that with the right guidance, they’re capable of achieving great results. I have experience tutoring family and friends, particularly in Year 9–10 and NCEA Level 1 & 2 Math, and I understand how important clear explanations are. My lessons are designed to be short, focused video tutorials (20–30 minutes) that students can watch anytime. This flexible approach means you can learn at your own pace, revisit tricky areas, and never feel rushed. I’m committed to helping students build confidence, prepare for assessments, and even start to enjoy the subject.

Maths doesn’t have to be intimidating — once concepts are explained clearly, it can actually be enjoyable. My teaching style focuses on breaking problems into simple steps, using real-life examples, and showing different methods so students can find what works best for them.
I provide personalised video lessons that students can rewatch anytime. This means you can learn at your own pace, without feeling rushed, while still having me available for follow-up questions.
