About Ru
As mentioned, I am a Philosophy & English graduate with First-Class honours and hold a Master’s degree in Social Development, awarded with Distinction. I have a deep understanding of complex ideas and a patient, methodical teaching style. My love of Philosophy began as a teenager during Philosophy and Ethics A-level classes, leading me to continue to study it at uni. I am passionate about helping students excel academically and build lasting confidence in their critical thinking skills. My approach is professional, friendly, and always tailored to individual learning needs. In my free time I love volunteering and community organising in the areas of migrant rights, and I also really enjoy going to local metal and hardcore shows with friends!

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on clarity, engaging critically, and structured argumentation. I use discussion-based methods to deepen understanding and improve essay writing. I have tutored students on and off since 2017, and take a person-centred, focused approach. Lessons last 45 minutes to 60 minutes based on the student's desires, and suit A-level, undergraduate, & adult learners.
