About Lily
I'm Lily, a recent graduate of Oxford University, with a first-class degree in History and English. My tutoring style includes mentoring to improve confidence expressing opinions about the subject matter, 'super-curricular' activities and reading, as well as knowing the syllabus inside and out. My own high grades and those of students I have worked with are due to determination and a well-thought out study plan to ensure nothing is missed out.
My previous experience is with 14-18 year olds with Oxbridge admissions, entrance exams, personal statement writing, GCSEs and A Levels (with the Oxford charity Universify and as part of the Pembroke College Access scheme). For example, during a week long summer school in Oxford tutoring and mentoring a small group, half continued on to secure a place at the Oxbridge college of their choice.
Coming from a state comprehensive background I know that all students sometimes need a helping hand to achieve their full potential, and I aim to not only improve students' academic attainment but also their own confidence!
