I am an Oxford-educated English graduate with a First Class degree and a PGDL from King’s College London, offering tailored tutoring in English and the humanities, as well as Oxbridge admissions support. I have experience working with students of different ages and abilities, from building GCSE confidence to guiding applicants through the competitive Oxbridge process. I have several years of experience providing one-to-one tutoring for students preparing for their GCSEs, particularly in English Literature and Language. I have worked to support students for whom English is not their first language through basic reading and literacy, all the way through to engaging with set texts and practising essay writing. I design and deliver tailored lessons covering essay structure, grammar, and critical analysis of set texts, as well as reviewing and editing student work to address recurring issues. I have administered and marked mock exams to AQA standards, providing constructive feedback. I have also experience offering guidance on Oxbridge admissions preparation, including coaching on personal statements, exam skills, and interview prep. I can also plan and deliver one-off Oxbridge style mock interviews, with a follow up call to discuss feedback. We will work to build confidence in approaching unfamiliar materials in the moment without stumbling, forming arguments and defending opinions under scrutiny. I emphasise intellectual flexibility and rigour, since these are the skills most prized by Oxbridge admissions tutors. Across all stages of tutoring a student, I emphasise building confidence and creating a supportive, approachable environment that enables students to thrive. In exam and interview settings, I believe that confidence is key in ensuring the student is in the moment able to engage critically with materials, and this stems from practice, preparation, and self-belief.
