About Ellie

Hello, my name is Ellie and I am a second-year undergraduate studying for a BA in Jurisprudence (Law) at Mansfield College, Oxford. I achieved a first-class mark in Oxford’s preliminary law examinations (moderations) and, at school, obtained A*A*A*A* in English Literature, History, Economics and Sociology A-levels, in addition to achieving full marks in my EPQ, and 11 A* GCSEs. Beyond my academic studies, I bring an extensive background in debating. I captained England’s national debate team and was named ‘Best Speaker’ at several prestigious competitions. This experience informs my teaching style, particularly in developing the critical thinking and communication skills that are highly valued by Oxbridge tutors. At Oxford, I also serve as a student ambassador for both the Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach department and the Law Faculty. This role provides me with current, practical insight into the admissions process, which I use to help students maximise their chances of success.

About the lesson

I have considerable experience supporting students through every stage of a successful Oxbridge application: refining personal statements, preparing for the LNAT (I achieved a score of 34 in the multiple-choice section), and developing the skills needed to perform strongly at interview. My tutoring is student-led and goal-oriented, ensuring that sessions are focused and effective. In the first (free) session we will create a comprehensive plan of the structure of the lessons, and evaluate how effective each session was in order to ensure we are making the best progress towards success. I am happy to offer both a series of lessons so we can work towards your goals, or one-off lessons to address specific issues or offer a mock interview.
