About Shivani
Hi, I am an enthusiastic Geographer and have a deep passion for the subject. Because of this, I am training to become a Secondary Geography teacher at UCL. I have years of experience working with children and teenagers in a school setting and have been tutoring the subject for the past several months. This has allowed me to develop a strong understanding of the curriculum at GCSE and A Level.
Having achieved a First Class Geography degree from the University of Manchester I have a comprehensive understanding of core geographic principles and am able to apply this across all stages of education.

My teaching style focuses on developing a core understanding of the content rather than simple memorisation, as a curious individual myself I find that a deep understanding of the processes allows for a more intuitive approach to exam content. Giving your child the best chance to not only improve their geography knowledge but their subject confidence as well. Academic success is about more than content knowledge, it requires students to have faith in their own knowledge and have the best resources on how to quickly access that during exam conditions. This is something that I prioritise within my lesson plans.
Initially I will set students a mini test in hopes to gauge their strong subjects as well as asking students to RAG (red, amber, green) rate what subtopics they feel most confident in. From this I will curate lesson plans to suit your child's needs.
