About Elizabeth

I am a First-Class Criminology graduate and recipient of the Best Dissertation 2025 award, currently undertaking postgraduate legal study.

Throughout my degree, I developed a strong foundation in criminological theory, research methods, academic writing, and critical analysis. My dissertation was recognised with the Best Dissertation 2025 award, reflecting the quality of my research, analytical skills, and academic writing.

Alongside my studies, I have supported students at GCSE, A-Level and university level, helping them improve their understanding of complex concepts, strengthen their academic writing, and build confidence in their abilities.

My approach is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student's individual needs. Whether a student is aiming to improve essay grades, develop stronger critical analysis, understand research methods, or prepare for assessments, I focus on helping them develop the skills needed to succeed independently.

Students have described my teaching as clear, engaging, and confidence-building, particularly when explaining challenging concepts and helping them structure high-quality academic work.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to support undergraduate criminology students throughout their degree, whether they are struggling with specific modules, preparing for assignments, or aiming to achieve higher grades. Sessions are tailored to the student's university, module content, assessment requirements, and academic goals.

Support can be provided across a wide range of criminology topics, including:
• Criminological theory
• Victimology
• Gender, sexuality and crime
• Domestic abuse
• Criminal justice systems
• Policing and punishment
• Youth crime
• Research methods
• Qualitative and quantitative research
• Academic writing and critical analysis

Lessons may include:
Breaking down complex theories and concepts
Essay planning and structure
Developing critical analysis and evaluation
Understanding assessment criteria
Academic writing support
Reviewing draft work and providing detailed feedback
Research methods and data analysis guidance A key focus of my teaching is helping students move beyond description and develop the critical thinking and analytical skills required for higher university grades. I help students understand what lecturers are looking for and how to construct clear, persuasive, and well-supported academic arguments.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged where required.

A-level session: £30
Undergraduate session: £35
