About Anna
I am a first-class Master of Chemistry graduate from the University of Sheffield who is eager to share my love for the sciences with those studying their A-Levels and GCSEs.
I have 2 years tutoring experience, several years’ experience working with children and young adults and I have provided supplementary help to fellow students . I currently work as a mentor to secondary school children via the University. Having been a Girlguiding leader for 9 years, I am confident working with young people, and am experienced in teaching new skills to groups of children.
I am confident in my ability to deliver curriculum outcomes by planning lessons that engage my students, catering our sessions to suit their needs and make the most out of our time together. I pride myself on having the ability to communicate science in an understandable and fun way. I possess a strong academic background and an in-depth knowledge of my field, constantly using knowledge from all three sciences and maths.
With me, you will feel listened to and comfortable, and together we will help you to achieve your full potential.
Please note I only have online availability currently and I am offering my services to help any students who are taking exams in the next two years.
I have an up to date enhanced DBS and I take safeguarding for all my students seriously. Tutoring is available both weekends and weekdays, so if you are interested in my services and would like to book a slot, please get in touch.
Thank you and I will hopefully meet you (virtually) soon!

I understand every student is different and I therefore aim to cater the sessions to suit your needs and make the most of our time together. My aim for our tutoring sessions is to inspire confidence in biology, chemistry and physics. I will reinforce classroom learning with additional discussion and specifically prepared problems and I will impart my tips on how to study, take notes and complete test questions effectively.
I like to collaborate with students and parents to determine areas of weakness, needs and goals, with the aim of developing manageable tutoring plans for the sessions which support the school lesson schedule, whilst hopefully igniting a passion in the subject! I cover all the different fields within chemistry, biology and physics. No two students are alike so I ensure that I quickly understand the student’s learning style so that progress is swift. I know science can seem hard, and that students can be disheartened if they are struggling with a subject but with help this can be addressed.
I found my love of science was helped enormously by the quality and style of amazing teachers that I had, so I know how important the right tutor can be. I endeavour to provide a fun, friendly but rigorous approach to learning science, tailored to each individual. I consider myself a patient tutor who will ensure that understanding hard concepts is achieved in an effective and simplified way.
Prior to our first session, it is useful to know which exam board the student is studying under (if applicable) and any specific topics of weakness to allow me to prepare resources.

I know Anna through teaching undergraduate chemical engineering students, and I can confidently say she is someone who really cares about helping others learn. She pays close attention, is very patient and always makes sure the student actually understand what is being taught - which I think makes her great teacher/tutor. If a student needs a bit more help or follow-up, she is the kind of person who will take that extra step. She is a thoughtful and dependable person. I would definitely recommend her to anyone on Superprof looking for real support in their learning.
