About Kelly
I'm Kelly, a 37-year-old certified teacher with a true passion for fine arts. I have been teaching and tutoring for 14 years now. I received my postgraduate education and teaching experiences in both the United States and the United Kingdom. I have had great success with my students, ranging from elementary school to college, and non-traditional students. I have taught students in general education and students that receive special education services. One of my greatest strengths is finding creative approaches to enable all students to progress in their learning. I have been teaching since 2006. In various teaching and support capacities, I have worked for educational businesses, educational non-profits, in public schools, and at a University. I am a certified art teacher (elementary through high school). I truly believe in my students. I leave room for my students to surpass all expectations that anyone has ever had for them. I enjoy encouraging my students. I love to support and congratulate them along their learning journey. My education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from Atlanta College of Art. I spent time studying abroad in France. I spent a semester creating art and studying in New York City during my undergrad time. I completed a postgraduate course in experimental video in Owego, New York. I received my Master's of Arts (Fine Art) degree from the University for Creative Arts in the United Kingdom. Upon returning to the USA, I completed all of my postgraduate coursework in special education (at Piedmont College in Georgia) and gained my public school teaching certifications. I have exhibited my own painting, drawing, sculpture, and collage artworks around the world. I have received a number of education and exhibition awards, including the Gene Alcott Award. I am a teacher that is incredibly passionate about teaching art skills. My experience includes teaching students at every level. I have taught art in a variety of media. These include charcoal drawing, ink drawing/painting, pencil drawing, pastel drawing, collage, mixed media, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, and oil painting. I have a thoroughly planned step-by-step formula to teach drawing (and moving into painting). Additionally, I am happy to tailor instruction to your specific interests/needs. My master's in fine art degree has equipped me well to relay important knowledge about a variety of art techniques and approaches.

If you need to cancel a class, 24 hours notice is required. Multiple students in one class: First student=$60/hr and each added student in the same class is an additional $28.50/hr.
