About Finlay
I am a current student at Lancaster University in my first year. I have grown up around younger children and always loved to help them and see them grow into the amazing people they are. Throughout my childhood and till this day I have helped my younger brothers with the problems they have with their schoolwork. Every time they eventually got to the answer themselves it gave me a great sense of accomplishment as I knew I was helping. This feeling has inspired me to try to help more than just family and branch out to help as many people who need it.

In a typical lesson with me I will firstly try and explain the subject to give you a basic understanding and concept of what is going on and how it works. I will then start by providing some practice questions where you will attempt them. After you have made an attempt on the questions I will go through any that you did not understand or got wrong. However, instead of telling you where you went wrong and what to do straight away, I will walk you through the process of answering the question. This will then hopefully better your understanding of how to answer the problems. To test this, I will then give you some new problems to solve and repeat the same process till you are confidently doing it all on your own without any help.
A typical lesson would be anything from 1-2 hours.
I have achieved an 8 in GCSE maths and a C in A-level maths and I am currently studying finance at Lancaster University. Over the past couple of years, I have helped my younger brother improve his maths using the same structure. This has led to him having a better understanding of the questions and how to answer them independently.
My lessons would be for students who are doing GCSE content and need help and guidance.
