About Ishan

I am at present a Mathematics and Economics student in my final year at London School of Economics (LSE). I have tutored for the past 4 years and have over 500 hours of Mathematics tuition ranging from 11+ Exam Preparation, Primary School exams, GCSE’s and A levels. During my time at school I have achieved A Stars across most of my subjects including 10A*’s at GCSE. I have also recently completed a summer internship programme as a trader at Barclays Investment Bank.

About the lesson

My style of teaching is very different to others, a method which I have developed myself during my time at school when I had to prepare for multiple subjects! I aim to teach student’s the topics conceptually first, in an engaging manner using a wide array of my own resources. Then to apply this knowledge, I aim to work through multiple examples creating templates for the student to use in the future. I then observe the student trying another question themselves and after all this set some questions which aim to test if the student has grasped the concept. The goal is to provide as many as possible “hand written templates” for every topic, in addition to supply as many of my own notes and past exam papers I have completed to the student! Having completed school recently and a student myself at present, I wish to be as relatable and engaging as possible to all of my students!
I prefer to not end the lesson after the 2 hours of teaching and like to actively answer questions as well as provide other personalised support/advice even outside the hours of teaching, this I believe is the best way to foster a great relationship with the student!

I have been teaching online for the past 3 years, even before the pandemic! I have been able to devise a procedure that aims to make the sessions as interactive and useful for the students! I aim to first conceptually explain the concept using an online software which I have purchased separately, and then work through various exam questions, testing if the student has grasped the concept. In addition to this the online aspect of the lesson helps me create various templates for every topic that the student is struggling in. And so if the student ever struggles in the topic again they have a reference point and can go back to the template to recap the topic again. Students love resources, and I am here to provide these resources:)
