About Bethany
I am a student at the University of St Andrews- Scotland's top university. I am going into my final year of studying English and French Literature. Having studied my native language and a foreign language to a high level, I am very confident teaching English and French literature, grammar and vocabulary. In my third year of university, I taught English in three primary schools in Paris to children aged 6-12. I also privately tutored two teenagers for 5 months - they both improved their English significantly over the course of that time. I have a genuine passion for education and I am hoping to pursue teaching as a long-term career.

My methodology involves student-directed learning. I feel strongly that students learn best when they are exploring something which interests them. For example, if a student has a strong interest in marine biology, we can pick an article in English to read on that subject and then discuss it in class- the ideas, the expressions, the grammar etc.. This brings languages to life by combining personal interests and linguistic study.
