About Mayustri
My name is Mayustri Gopalan. I am currently a student at the University of Pretoria. I have always enjoyed teaching in that I stepped up a lot during my high school years by tutoring Life Science and proofreading and editing English essays. This is what played a role in me choosing my future profession. I have a passion for English and enjoyed teaching it during my teaching pracs. I look forward to more teaching in my future.

I believe in a mix of teacher-centered and learner-centered lessons in that the teacher leads the learner through the content while the student has control over how they learn, master, and apply concepts. As teachers, we are there to guide learners, clarify their doubts, and make learning fun. I aim to get to know my learners, build a rapport, use humor in my lessons, and come up with fun ways to remember things by placing our content into the real world. I am familiar with teaching high school learners, I enjoy working with them and look forward to learning from them and hearing their perspectives.
