As a Bachelor of Science (BS) Filipino student, my approach as a tutor is to make learning simple, engaging, and easy to understand. I believe that every student has a different learning style, so I adjust my teaching methods based on their needs, abilities, and pace. I aim to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment where students can ask questions, express their ideas, and learn without fear of making mistakes.
I use a student-centered approach that focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I explain lessons step by step and use simple examples, visual aids, and practical activities to help students understand difficult concepts. I also encourage active participation through discussions, question-and-answer activities, exercises, and short quizzes. Whenever possible, I connect lessons to real-life situations to make learning more meaningful and interesting.
A typical tutoring session begins with a short review of the previous lesson to assess the student's understanding. Next, I introduce the new topic and explain the key concepts using clear examples. Afterward, I provide guided exercises and activities to allow the student to apply what they have learned. I then check their progress through questions or a short assessment, clarify any misunderstandings, and end the session with a summary of the important points. I may also provide practice exercises or assignments to reinforce learning.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, willingness to listen, and commitment to helping students improve. As a student myself, I understand the challenges of learning new topics and managing academic responsibilities. This allows me to relate to my students and provide guidance in a friendly and approachable way. My tutoring sessions are suitable for elementary and junior high school students who need assistance with Filipino, reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and basic communication skills. I can also assist senior high school students with Filipino-related subjects, depending on their learning needs. I am willing to work with beginners, students who need additional academic support, and learners who want to improve their language proficiency. I adjust my lessons according to each student's grade level, current knowledge, and specific learning goals.
