About Bhavana

My name is Bhavana and I am in my fifth year of medical school at Imperial College London. One thing that drew me to medicine was knowing I could apply my zeal for hard work for positive change and to ultimately help others with the knowledge I continue to accumulate throughout my degree. I apply this same principle to why I want to tutor - I want to help individuals aspiring for medicine, and to give reassuring and realistic advice to them to ensure they feel adequately prepared and more confident when application season begins! Having been through the whole process myself, I will be a helpful and friendly face willing to help prospective medics get through it too.

About the lesson

- I will use previous experience and knowledge of medicine applications, in addition to the criteria sought out by medical schools for applicants, to govern the approach to lessons; medical schools look for hard-working, problem-solving and passionate applicants and I aim to help my tutees hone in these skills during lessons and apply them to the application, e.g. in reasoning sections of admission tests and difficult interview questions. I will provide admission advice, practice opportunities and mock interviews to my tutees. - Lessons can range from 1-2 hours - When I applied to medical school, I scored in the 96th percentile for UCAT and attained 6.5, 5.3, 3.5A respectively in the BMAT, and received all interview invites (Imperial, UCL, KCL and Manchester). Attained A*A*A* at A-level and nine grade 9s at GCSE, as well as a grade A (highest possible) in FSMQ Additional Maths. - My lessons are for individuals who are aiming to apply to medical school for the upcoming academic year, or before for some supplementary advice and tips for finding suitable extracurricular activities, work experience etc.
