About NIKHIL

I am Nikhil Kiran Pulekar, a FIDE-rated chess coach current FIDE rating 1576 (classical), 1577 (rapid), 1589 (blitz), with 7+ years of coaching experience and a passion for helping students discover the thinking behind the game.

I have coached 150+ students through chess academies, schools, individual coaching and online classes. I enjoy working particularly with children and beginners, helping them build strong fundamentals and gradually become confident, independent players.

As a competitive chess player, I understand both the learning process and the challenges students face during practical games and tournaments. My teaching philosophy is simple: learn the concepts, understand the position, practice consistently and learn from every game.

Through Chessology, I aim to make chess structured, engaging and meaningful while helping students develop skills that extend beyond the chessboard—concentration, logical thinking, patience, problem-solving and decision-making.

About the lesson

My classes are designed for children and beginners who want to learn chess systematically and develop a strong foundation. I use a concept-based approach where students understand the reason behind a move instead of simply memorizing openings or patterns.
A typical class combines clear explanations, interactive positions, tactical puzzles, guided practice and practical games. I adjust the pace and difficulty according to the student's age, current playing level and learning goals.
The Chessology Foundation Program covers the fundamentals of chess, piece movement, rules, checkmate, basic tactics, opening principles, simple strategies, practical play and game analysis.
With 7+ years of coaching experience and 150+ students coached, I focus not only on improving chess skills but also on developing concentration, calculation, logical thinking, problem-solving, patience, decision-making and confidence.
The classes are suitable for complete beginners, children who know the basics and students looking to strengthen their fundamentals before moving towards competitive chess. Online and offline coaching options are available.
