About Musatwe
My name is Musatwe Simutowe — most students call me Musa. I am a FIDE Candidate Master (CM) and FIDE-certified Instructor (FI) with over 20 years of chess coaching experience, based in Dubai.
I am the founder of ChessPath Academy (est. 2004), where I have trained students ranging from complete beginners to national champions and international competitors. My students have won junior championships and gone on to represent their countries at chess Olympiads and African Championships.
I also have a unique connection to elite chess: my brother is GM Amon Simutowe, the first Grandmaster from sub-Saharan Africa — so chess excellence runs in the family, and I bring that environment of serious, high-level thinking to every lesson.
I have personally represented Zambia at the World Chess Olympiad (Baku 2016, Batumi 2018) and African Chess Championships, with a FIDE rating of 2149.
Whether you are a complete beginner, a parent looking to develop your child's focus and thinking skills, or a competitive player wanting to level up — I will give you a structured, personalised path to real improvement.

I offer online and in-person chess lessons in Dubai for kids (from age 4), teenagers, and adults at all levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or a competitive player, lessons are fully personalised and structured around your goals. I cover tactics, strategy, openings, and endgames. My students have won junior championships and represented their countries internationally. First lesson is free.
