About Lou
I am a committed flute tutor with 8 years of experience, having taught around 150 students successfully. I enjoy working with students of all ages and helping them develop their musical abilities.
My teaching style focuses on communication, patience, and flexibility. I customise my lessons based on each student’s level and goals. I emphasise strong basics like breathing, fingering, tone clarity, and rhythm.
I make my classes interactive by including exercises, songs, and creative techniques. This keeps students engaged and motivated.
My strength is explaining concepts in a simple and clear way. I also support students with basic music theory. My goal is to make learning flute enjoyable and rewarding.

My teaching approach for flute combines adaptation, flexibility, collaboration, and a positive mindset to create an engaging learning experience. I start by understanding the student’s level and preferred learning style, then design lessons that are both effective and enjoyable.
I emphasise core skills such as breath control, tone production, and finger movement, helping students build a strong technical base. I remain flexible in my teaching, adjusting lessons to suit the student’s pace and comfort.
Collaboration is an important part of my sessions, encouraging students to actively participate and express their ideas. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable to learn and improve. I also teach music theory and rhythm to enhance overall musical understanding.
