About Lisa
I am a passionate piano tutor with 15 years of experience teaching high school students, college students, and adults. I have successfully guided around 300 students, helping them grow from beginners into confident pianists.
My teaching philosophy focuses on clear explanation, encouragement, and personalised guidance. I believe that learning piano should be both disciplined and enjoyable. I adapt lessons based on each student’s goals, whether they are learning for exams, performance, or personal interest.
I emphasise building strong piano fundamentals such as finger control, rhythm accuracy, posture, and sight-reading. I also introduce basic music theory to help students understand how music works. I use real songs and practical exercises to keep lessons engaging.
One of my key achievements is helping students build self-confidence and independence in learning. Many students have shown strong improvement through consistent effort and support.
My goal is to inspire students to enjoy piano and develop a lifelong connection with music.

My teaching approach for piano is structured, flexible, and encouraging. I focus on strong communication so students clearly understand each lesson. I adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs, helping students progress at their own pace without pressure.
I use real-life examples like popular music, live performance situations, and musical case studies to connect lessons with real-world use. This approach helps students see the value of what they are learning. Demonstrations, guided practice, and listening activities are combined to support effective learning.
In addition to piano performance, I teach music theory, rhythm control, sight reading, ear training, chord progressions, harmony, and basic improvisation. My goal is to build strong musical foundations, boost confidence, and help students enjoy piano learning for the long term.
