About Emily
I have 9 years of experience as a Physics educator and private tutor. I hold a B.S. in Physics Education and have served as a curriculum consultant for several STEM programs, earning the "Excellence in Physics Instruction" award in 2024. I have always been fascinated by the "big questions" of the universe, which is why I specialize in Astrophysics and Thermodynamics. Outside of the classroom, I am a musician who plays the piano and cello. My interest in music is actually rooted in Physics; I love exploring the concepts of wave mechanics, frequency, and resonance through my instruments. This musical perspective often helps me explain complex Quantitative Physics concepts to my students using the familiar language of sound and rhythm, making our lessons both unique and memorable.

My Physics lessons are designed for the curious mind, taking you from K-12 basics to the challenging requirements of first-year Bachelor’s courses. Using live, interactive simulations on Microsoft Teams, we investigate the fundamental laws that govern our universe, from the microscopic scale of Quantitative Physics to the massive scale of Astrophysics. The standout benefit of my teaching style is the emphasis on "Quantitative Reasoning"—I help you translate physical phenomena into the mathematical language used by professional physicists. We explore Thermodynamics and energy transfer in a way that is grounded in logic and real-world application. By participating in these live one-to-one dialogues, you aren't just memorizing formulas; you are learning how to think like a scientist. This approach builds a level of critical thinking and analytical rigour that will serve as a powerful foundation for any career in science or engineering.
