About Melissa
Over the years, I've discovered that students learn best when lessons include both structure and creativity. I enjoy helping learners build strong foundations while also finding their own way of expressing music.
I have a Music Degree and 10 years of teaching experience with beginners and adult students. Teaching different learners has helped me understand how important it is to adapt lessons based on their goals and interests.
I enjoy seeing students reach milestones they once thought were difficult. Watching someone enjoy playing music and feel proud of their progress is what makes teaching guitar special.

During my guitar lessons, I create a comfortable learning space where students can improve while enjoying the music they love. Each lesson combines technique practice with songs and activities that keep learning interesting.
We'll work on chords, chord progressions, strumming patterns, rhythm guitar, fingerstyle playing, picking techniques, lead guitar skills, improvisation, songwriting basics, and music theory. We can practise a favourite song, solve difficult sections together, or explore different playing styles.
I'll share simple practice goals, helpful feedback, and regular progress updates to guide your improvement. As you continue learning, you'll develop stronger skills and feel more confident playing guitar.
