About Emily
Hello, I am a young, approachable tutor with a real passion for helping students succeed. I am about to study Law at university after completing my A-Levels, including English Literature, which I particularly loved. I specialise in tutoring GCSE English Literature and Foundation Maths, with experience in key texts like Macbeth, Jekyll and Hyde, and the poetry anthology. As someone who has recently been through the GCSE and A-Level system, I understand the pressure students face and how best to break things down in a relatable and supportive way. My age helps me connect with students, creating a comfortable learning environment where they feel understood and encouraged. I chose to tutor because I believe everyone can achieve their goals with the right guidance. I’m here to build confidence, boost skills, and help students feel genuinely capable in both English and Maths.

I take a calm, student-focused approach, tailoring each session to the individual’s needs and learning style. I use active recall, exam-style questions, model answers, and clear step-by-step methods to build confidence and understanding. Whether it's analysing key English Literature texts (Macbeth, Jekyll and Hyde, poetry), or mastering Foundation Maths concepts, I aim to make lessons engaging and effective. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are structured to balance content revision with exam practice. I studied A-Level English Literature and have experience supporting GCSE students of all abilities. My sessions are ideal for secondary students (ages 13–16) preparing for their GCSEs or needing extra support throughout the year.
