1. My Teaching Techniques and Methods
My teaching philosophy is built on "Concept First, Application Second." I do not believe in rote memorization. For science subjects, understanding the "why" is more important than memorizing the "what."
Visual & Analogical Learning:
Physics: I use real-life analogies to explain laws. For example, I explain "Current" using a "bucket brigade" analogy and "Voltage" using water pressure. This helps students visualize invisible concepts.
Biology: Diagrams are the soul of Biology. I teach students to draw step-by-step diagrams (like the Human Heart or Neuron) live during class, rather than just showing static images. This improves their retention by 70%.
Chemistry: I use "Mnemonics" (memory tricks) to help students memorize the Periodic Table, Chemical Reactions, and Formulae.
Digital Whiteboard Integration:
I use a digital pen tablet to teach online. This allows me to write equations and balance chemical reactions in real-time, exactly like a physical blackboard, but with the added benefit of colors and diagrams.
Exam-Oriented Approach:
I train students to solve Case Study Based Questions (new CBSE pattern) and detailed theoretical answers (ICSE pattern). I focus on keywords that examiners look for in answer scripts.
2. The Usual Structure of a Class (60 Minutes)
I follow a structured format to ensure the class is productive and the student remains engaged:
The "Hook" & Recap (5-10 mins):
I start by asking 2-3 quick questions about the previous topic. This refreshes their memory and helps me identify weak areas immediately.
Core Concept Explanation (20-25 mins):
This is the main lecture. I use a mix of digital slides and whiteboard writing.
I explain one concept fully (e.g., "Newton's Laws of Motion" or "Balancing Chemical Equations") before moving to the next.
Interaction: I stop every 5 minutes to ask, "Does this make sense?" or "Can you explain this back to me?"
Live Practice / Problem Solving (15 mins):
We solve 3-5 numerical problems or answer textbook questions together.
I encourage the student to attempt the problem first while I watch. If they get stuck, I guide them to the solution rather than giving the answer immediately.
Summary & Homework Assignment (5 mins):
I summarize the key points of the day.
I give a small, specific homework assignment (e.g., "Solve Q4 to Q7 from Page 45") instead of an overwhelming load.
3. Special Features as a Teacher
"Cheat Sheet" Handouts:
I provide students with custom-made "Cheat Sheets" or "Formula Maps" at the end of every chapter (e.g., a single page summary of "Light" in Physics). This acts as a lifeline for their last-minute exam revision.
Doubt Solving Support:
I offer "WhatsApp support" or "24-hour doubt clearing" via text. If a student gets stuck on a question while studying at night, they can send a photo, and I will guide them. This builds immense trust.
Focus on Graphs & Diagrams:
Most students lose marks in Physics because they don't label graphs correctly, or in Biology because diagrams are messy. I dedicate specific sessions just to Graph Practice and Diagram Perfection.
Regular Testing:
I conduct a "30-Minute Quiz" every 2 weeks. This isn't to grade them, but to track progress. I send a performance report to parents after every test.
4. Target Audience (For whom are the classes intended?)
My classes are specifically designed for:
School Children:
Class 9 Students: Helping them bridge the gap between middle school and high school. Class 9 is where the syllabus toughens significantly, and I help them cope with the pressure.
Class 10 Students (Board Years): Intensive exam preparation for CBSE and ICSE boards. My focus is on maximizing their board scores (90%+) and strengthening their foundation for Class 11.
My classes are ideal for students who attend school but feel they don't understand how things work. I break down the textbook language into simple, understandable logic.
