About Gia
I have spent the last seven years helping more than 340 students transform their relationship with mathematics. What began as informal peer tutoring during my university years gradually evolved into a full-time vocation once I realised how many capable students were held back by fear rather than ability. I hold an advanced degree in applied mathematics and have worked with learners from age twelve to adult professionals seeking career changes. My students range from those struggling with basic arithmetic foundations to high-achievers preparing for elite university entrance exams. I take particular pride in the students who arrived convinced they could never understand maths and left with genuine enthusiasm for the subject. Outside of tutoring I contribute to mathematics education blogs and develop free video resources for underprivileged students. I believe that mathematical thinking is a life skill not merely an academic requirement and I approach every lesson with patience curiosity and a genuine commitment to each student's individual growth.

My approach to mathematics is built around the idea that every student processes numbers and logic differently. I begin each tutoring relationship with a comprehensive diagnostic conversation to understand where a student feels confident and where anxiety or confusion begins. Rather than forcing a single method onto every learner I maintain a flexible toolkit of visual explanations real-world analogies step-by-step problem decomposition and pattern recognition exercises. For algebra I emphasise the structural beauty of equations and teach students to read them like sentences. For calculus I focus on the storytelling aspect of change and motion using physical demonstrations and digital graphing tools. I never move to a new topic until the current one feels solid to the student. Homework is carefully curated not randomly assigned and every mistake is treated as valuable data. I also teach exam strategies that go beyond content including time management error checking and psychological preparation for high-pressure testing environments. My sessions are highly interactive with constant back-and-forth questioning rather than passive lecturing.
