About William
With a Bachelor of Music Education (Guitar Focus) and over nine years of teaching experience, I am passionate about nurturing creativity and emotional expression in my students. I believe that music is a powerful tool for personal expression and emotional connection. In my lessons, I focus on developing a strong technical foundation while encouraging students to explore their own musical ideas. I teach students how to play with feeling, emphasizing the importance of phrasing, dynamics, and articulation. By understanding the emotional content of the music, students can bring their performances to life. I also incorporate music theory into my lessons, helping students understand the structure and language of music. This knowledge empowers them to compose their own pieces and improvise with confidence. Each lesson is tailored to the individual student's needs and goals. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, I provide personalized instruction that fosters growth, creativity, and emotional expression.

Every student learns differently, and every guitarist has a unique story. That’s why I use a highly personalized teaching approach that evolves with each student. With over nine years of teaching and a Bachelor of Music Education specializing in guitar, I design lessons that are both grounded in classical music education and open to the needs of contemporary learners.
Foundational skills come first. We’ll work on posture, finger strength, rhythm, strumming, and fretboard knowledge—tools that apply no matter what style you want to pursue. I often teach theory through playing: chord voicings while learning a song, or intervals while analyzing a riff. That way, it sticks.
For students who are interested in composing or improvising, we build sessions around creativity. I include songwriting prompts, improvisation exercises, and harmonic analysis. For those focused on classical repertoire or advanced playing, I help break down complex pieces, refine interpretation, and prepare for performance with confidence.
I embrace modern teaching aids like online metronomes, tone trainers, and interactive tab software. These tools can enhance traditional methods and help students stay connected with their learning even outside of lessons.
Some of my students dream of stages and studios. Others want to play for themselves, at home, in peace. I support both with equal care. With the right balance of structure and creative freedom, guitar learning becomes something joyful, sustainable, and deeply rewarding.
