About Louise
With 17 years of experience as a flute tutor, I have successfully guided around 150 students across different age groups and skill levels. I am dedicated to creating a positive and comfortable learning environment where students can grow with confidence.
My teaching style focuses on clear communication and flexibility, allowing me to design lessons based on each student’s needs and pace. I emphasise building a strong foundation in breathing techniques, posture, fingering, and tone development.
I include creative exercises, songs, and simple improvisation to make learning interesting and engaging. This helps students stay motivated and enjoy the process. I am known for simplifying complex techniques and guiding students step by step.
I also support students with basic music theory and listening skills. My aim is to help students improve steadily and enjoy music.

My flute teaching approach focuses on adapting to student needs, maintaining flexibility, encouraging collaboration, and building positivity in every lesson. I aim to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
I start with essential techniques such as posture, breathing, and tone production, which are crucial for flute playing. As students progress, I introduce scales, exercises, and songs that match their level.
Flexibility allows me to tailor each lesson based on the student’s learning speed and comfort. I encourage collaboration by involving students in practice routines and creative activities.
Positivity plays a major role in my teaching. I ensure that students feel supported and motivated throughout their learning journey.
In addition to flute, I also teach relevant subjects like music theory and rhythm to help students become well-rounded musicians.
