About Kay
I’m a big reader and comic book fan who loves a good story, which is probably why I’m so into teaching creative writing. When I need to reset, I’m usually swimming to clear my head. I’m pretty driven—I finished my Honors while working full-time—so I’m definitely someone who gets things done. Whether we're diving into literature or sharpening your essays, I’m all about making it click. I enjoy teaching because I like to see the improvement in my students and seeing that “lightbulb on” moment!

I don't do the whole "sit and listen while I talk at you" thing. Since I’ve spent time teaching in South Korea and coaching debate teams, my style is way more about getting you to actually think on your feet and speak up.

Plus, having a background in psychology helps me figure out how you personally learn best, so we aren't wasting time on methods that don't click for you.
