I'm new to tutoring, but not new to education. My career as a journalist has mainly focused on teaching people about new and different topics they would not otherwise know about or understand — and that's what makes learning from me different and fun.
I love to have conversations with people, because that's how I understand how to best teach them. Yes, there are the basics — writing and reading exercises, punctuation exercises, verbal question-and-answer dialogues, proofreading and editing, etc. — but that doesn't mean that those basics have to be boring or impersonal. When you work with me, you can expect that the lessons will be effective, because they will be personal and therefore memorable. If I don't know something, I will be honest about it, and make sure to learn about it for you the next time we meet.
My lessons are for everyone. I am just as comfortable with adults as I am with kids and young adults. I welcome adults who want to learn anything from the basics to academic essay-writing to journalism, and children and young adults whose needs lie more in the fields of what most would consider a traditional educational experience.
