About Lee

I'm Lee Chin Yee, a passionate and dedicated vocal teacher who finds deep joy in helping students discover their love for singing. I guide each student on their musical journey with care and enthusiasm, helping them unlock their potential and find joy in vocal expression.

*Professional Experience & Artistic Pursuits*
I have explored a wide variety of musical styles for Vocal including classical, musical theatre, pop, Chinese folk, and Malaysian Chinese art songs. This diverse background enables me to guide students across genres.

I have participated in numerous vocal competitions, including being a Top 5 finalist in the 2025 Voices in Bloom Singing Competition (Musical Theatre A5 category), a Gold Medalist at the 2025 Hong Kong International Music Competition (Malaysia District Preliminary, Kuala Lumpur), and receiving an Excellent Award (Senior Pop Voice) at the 12th Hong Kong International Music Festival 2025 held in Hong Kong. I was also a finalist in the 2023 Dimash Concert Opening Guest Singing Competition. These experiences have strengthened my artistic discipline and fueled my passion for continuous artistic development.

In addition to competitive performance, I have gained extensive ensemble and stage experience. I performed as an Alto 1 choir member under Fiamma Opera Studio in Symphonic Rock 20: When Rock and Orchestra Collide, a large-scale collaborative concert blending contemporary rock repertoire with orchestral arrangements (31 October–2 November 2025). I also portrayed Smitty in Coffee Break and Delray in Steal Your Rock ’n’ Roll. I further sang as part of the ensemble in the Musical Theatre Scenes showcase, a collaborative production between UCSI University and University of Malaya, presented on 15 November 2025 at UCSI University.

Beyond performance, I was awarded the RSL Teacher Award 2025, and I conducted a vocal health workshop for teachers, reflecting my commitment to holistic vocal care and sustainable vocal practice.

I currently teach both vocal and piano students, offering beginner to Grade 5 piano instruction in addition to vocal coaching. I stay actively engaged in vocal pedagogy research to ensure my methods remain current and effective.

In addition to teaching, I served as a judge at the 6th Asian Children’s Artist International Grand Prix – Kuala Lumpur Round, where I evaluated young talents in the singing category and contributed to the encouragement and growth of future performers.

I’m also proud to be a lifetime member of the Malaysian Association for Music Education (MAME) and remain committed to nurturing each student’s unique voice and musical potential in a joyful, expressive, and technically sound environment.

My lessons focus on foundational techniques, such as proper breathing, vocal warm-ups, pitch accuracy, and expressive singing. Whether you’re new to singing or looking to improve your current skills, my lessons are tailored to your individual needs, ensuring a rewarding and enjoyable learning experience.
