About Nikolas

I spend most of my time either practising or teaching music. I study philosophy and I'm also a history enthusiast.
With all of my different interests I'm looking for ways to support my own and others' musical development. Since I started to teach I've learnt a lot myself, sometimes even from beginners, seeing how different people manage to overcome challenges and grow both as musician and person truly delights me.
I'm quite a strict person and have a lot of expectations, and I'm aware of what comes with that. If you feel like you could do more but you don't have the right balance, or that you struggle to find your motivation, I could be of help for you.

About the lesson

I'm a professional classical musician. I teach Violin and Viola and Piano. I can help you to elevate your skills, or to get in touch with your instrument again, or we can just start from the very beginning if you are thinking of learning music.

I put high emphasis on the psychological aspects of music. It is much overlooked aspect to learn how to keep high motivation, how to focus and how to deal with the anxiety of performance. It is not only helpful for you if you are aiming to be a professional musician but these skills are really useful for most fields and for your everyday life as well.

I tailor the lessons to the person's individual needs. During the lessons I ask the students to be as proactive as possible. I help my students to arrive to solutions themselves. With this method I hope to encourage them to have a thorough understanding of the subject on hand. My aim is for my students to be self-sufficient with their own practice, and develop an outside point of view so you can listen to your playing as your own audience.
