About Lacey

I’m a violin tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance, specialising in Baroque violin. My work focuses on young children, guiding them to build strong listening skills and aural awareness from an early age.

I make lessons playful and engaging through storytelling, rhythm games, movement, and simple melodies. Children learn to match pitch, understand rhythm, and develop basic technique while having fun. Suzuki and Kodály-inspired methods guide my approach, supporting natural ear training and musical memory.

Lessons combine technique and creativity. Students learn to recognise patterns, sing melodies, and play with confidence. I aim to make music exploration exciting and accessible.

My goal is to help children develop strong ears while enjoying every moment of learning. Violin lessons with me are joyful, imaginative, and full of musical discovery. Together, we make music come alive.

About the lesson

My teaching approach emphasises creativity and improvisation on the violin. I focus on jazz, folk, and world music styles to help students explore their own musical ideas. Lessons encourage freedom, spontaneity, and expressive playing.

Students practise creating melodies over chord changes and developing a personal improvisational style. I guide them in phrasing, rhythm, and tone to build a strong musical voice. Exercises strengthen intuition and listening skills.

We explore improvisation in solo and ensemble contexts. Techniques from non-classical styles are adapted for the violin, opening new possibilities for sound and expression.

My lessons are ideal for worship singers and musical theatre enthusiasts, connecting the instrument to vocal and dramatic expression. I help students explore emotion, style, and technical skill together.

The goal is to cultivate confidence and creativity. Together, we unlock your inner jazz or folk fiddler. Lessons are inspiring, playful, and full of musical discovery.
