About Aleesha

As a student myself, I had extra help from passionate and dedicated teachers. Now as a teacher, I am hoping to pass on my skills, time, passion and expertise in subjects such as English, History and Religious Education.

I have a Bachelor of Arts (2020), with a double major in Literature and History, and I have my Master's of Teaching (Secondary) with a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education (2022). I also am provisionally registered with VIT and also have my Working with Children's Check. I have also had a police check.

I currently teach VCE English at one of the oldest girls' schools in Victoria. I have been entrusted with teaching Year 12 and Year 11 English classes for the past two years, and know the course well. My ideal student would be a student completing VCE who has a strong desire to improve upon their essay writing skills.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I guide the students through their coursework received by their own school teacher. This allows the student quality 1:1 time with a VCE teacher to discuss and work through activities such as breaking down an essay question, writing their oral presentation and cultivating a meaningful and creative crafting texts piece. Through using the student's own school work, this ensures that lessons are catering to their needs and guarantees that they are up to date with their school work.

Lessons usually take place over an hour, however, I do offer 1.5 hour lessons leading up to SACs or exams. I am also happy to run sessions over the school holidays if students feel as if they require this.

In terms of my achievements with tutoring students, in 2025, I helped my private tutoring student raise her grades from a C to a B+ over the course of the year. This student then achieved a higher than expected study score for VCE English.
