About Katie

Hi! I’m Katie, a passionate educator with a Master’s in Learning, Design, and Technology. With years of experience as a 5th and 6th grade teacher, I’ve had the privilege of helping students thrive in both classroom and tutoring settings. I specialize in one-on-one and small group tutoring, where I tailor lessons to meet each student’s individual needs and learning style. My goal as a tutor is to share my love of learning and inspire students to build their confidence and grow their skills. Whether we’re working on foundational concepts or tackling more advanced topics, I’m committed to creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel empowered to succeed. Every student has unique strengths, and I’m here to help them unlock their full potential!

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is rooted in understanding the unique needs and learning style of each student. I begin by identifying specific gaps in knowledge and areas where the student may need additional support. This helps me create a personalized learning plan that targets those areas while also building on their strengths.

I use a variety of teaching techniques to ensure that the material is accessible and engaging. Whether it's breaking concepts down into smaller, more manageable steps, using real-life examples, or employing interactive exercises, I focus on making sure that the student not only understands the content but also feels confident applying it.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my commitment to continuously evaluating progress. I’m always checking in to see how the student is grasping the material, adjusting our approach when needed, and celebrating their growth along the way. My goal is to create a learning experience that is not just effective, but also empowering—helping students gain not only knowledge but also confidence and a genuine love for learning.
