About Freya
I am an experienced tutor with a PhD in World Literature and extensive experience in the education sector. I find it rewarding to support students as they achieve their goals. I therefore value creating a supportive, engaging, and accessible learning environment that helps students build confidence and develop their skills. Whether a student is preparing for examinations, improving their academic writing, or seeking additional support with English, I aim to make learning enjoyable and personalised. I believe that teaching is not only about achieving strong academic results, but also about helping students become confident, independent learners.

My teaching approach is student-led, supportive, and personalised, tailored to each student's individual learning style and goals. I create engaging and interactive lessons that build confidence and encourage active participation. I closely monitor students' progress to identify areas for improvement. I also provide structured, constructive feedback and practical strategies to help students develop their skills and achieve consistent progress.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although session length can be adapted according to students' needs and learning objectives.
I teach students from primary level through to university level and have extensive experience successfully preparing students for examinations, including 11+, Common Entrance, GCSEs, and A Levels. I have also supported undergraduate and postgraduate students with essays and dissertations, as well as adult learners seeking assistance with academic writing and essay skills. In addition, I have experience working with students with SEND and students who speak English as a foreign language.
